My love affair with the guitar began at the age of nine, when after months of pleading, my parents finally relented and purchased me a modest beginners classical guitar one Christmas. Shortly after, my mother enrolled me in a classical guitar class at a local community college. By the age of fourteen I had graduated to an electric guitar and was giving lessons out of my bedroom and doing mods and repair work out of my parents' garage. I learned a lot through trial and error, had a lot of fun, taught several people how to play and earned enough money satisfy my album and gear addictions. Great days indeed and a wonderful foundation for an unexpected life journey.

I began performing at the age of twelve - by myself and backing various local talent. The passion for the live experiences didn't fully develop until I formed my first "real" band at the age of fifteen. Several albums and a lot of touring would follow. It was during these days that I met a world of professional musicians and learned their needs as well as realizing my own.

At nineteen I was accepted to Musician's Institute in Hollywood, California where I earned a diploma in guitar. That was a magical time - studying music all day and preforming all night. My mods and repair work continued for friends and other students. After graduation I taught for a year did some session work and played out with my band extensively. I was accepted to La Verne University in Athens, Greece and relocated to study Art and History. It was at this time I was asked to build a complete guitar by my sculpture teacher who's daughter I was giving lessons to. The guitar turned out amazing and prompted a demand from new friends and old.

After returning to the states I took a job at an art gallery in Berkeley and started playing again for various bands. Building continued and I eventually landed a job in the custom shop of a popular Bay Area guitar company. These days taught me the industry's business and production methods. After a brief stint there, I was persuaded to go on my own. I started my first luthier business and relocated to Arizona a short while latter.

Business was fine and I learned a lot. I formed many strong bonds with players around the world that continues to this day. As my knowledge grew and my style and tastes evolved, I made the decision to shut that business down and slowly began to develop the ideas that would become a completely new one. I wanted to do things my way on my terms, So here I am today with G. Angelo Guitars. This time it's highly personal and deeply passionate. G.ANGELO GUITARS is the culmination of all my knowledge and all my passion for the instrument that has been such an important part of my entire life.

The recent Covid outbreak gave rise to a number of challenges. Business all but came to a halt as the pandemic raged across the globe, venues were shut down and live music as we've known it all but disappeared. Musicians and live entertainers got hit exceedingly hard during these times. I enter a period of deep contemplation. I eventually decided to relocate from Arizona, back to Northern California, where I am currently working hard to continue my commitment to craft the finest electric guitars possible.
